It’s official: E3 2020 has been cancelled over coronavirus (COVID-19) concerns.
For those who don’t know, E3 is one of the largest expos for computers and video games of the year. For 2020, the expo would have taken place from June 7th to the 11th and as one can imagine, planning for these events happens well in advance. Clearly the expectation from the organizers is that this pandemic will not be resolved in that time-period.
The expo was expected to be major for Microsoft and Xbox. They were planning on showcasing the new Xbox Series X as well as their major titles for the release including none other than: Halo Infinite.
How does this affect Halo Infinite?
Basically what happens now is Microsoft and 343i will go to “Plan B”: “Given this decision, this year we’ll celebrate the next generation of gaming with the @Xbox community and all who love to play via an Xbox digital event,” Xbox boss Phil Spencer tweeted.
Details for this online Xbox event will be released in the coming weeks.
Cheers and be safe,
